SMS Messaging Consent & Opt-In Policy

Argos Alert · Intelligent Automation, LLC · Last updated: 2026-07-02

This page documents how recipients consent to receive SMS text messages from Argos Alert, what those messages contain, how often they are sent, and how to opt out. It is provided for transparency to our recipients and to messaging carriers reviewing our toll-free SMS sender (+1 888 390 9740).

1. About Argos Alert

Argos Alert is an incident-paging platform built by Intelligent Automation, LLC for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Security Operations Center (SOC) teams. When a monitored system raises an incident, Argos Alert pages the responsible on-call engineer. SMS is one of several alert channels offered alongside voice calls, email, Microsoft Teams, and mobile push notifications.

2. Who receives SMS messages

SMS messages are sent only to on-call engineers and IT operations staff who are members of an on-call rotation. Each recipient is enrolled into their organization's Argos Alert workspace by that organization's own administrator. Argos Alert does not send messages to the general public, does not purchase phone numbers, and does not send promotional or marketing messages of any kind.

3. How recipients opt in

Consent to receive SMS is standalone and optional. It is never bundled with an Argos Alert account, a purchase, employment, or acceptance of our Terms of Service, and it is given by the person who owns the mobile number — not on their behalf. Opt-in takes two affirmative steps, and no message is ever sent to a number that has not completed them:

  • Step 1 — Standalone opt-in. The number's owner visits our public SMS opt-in form, enters their own mobile number, and ticks a single consent checkbox that is unchecked by default and tied to nothing else: “I agree to receive recurring operational incident-alert text messages from Argos Alert (Intelligent Automation, LLC). Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service. Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.”
  • Step 2 — Confirmation reply. They then receive a one-time confirmation text and must reply YES. Until they reply YES, the number stays pending and Argos Alert delivers no messages to it. A reply of STOP cancels at any time.
  • Opting in to SMS is not required to use Argos Alert, and declining has no effect on any account or service.
  • Each opt-in and each YES/STOP reply is recorded with the number and a timestamp.

4. The opt-in form (live)

Consent is collected on a public, standalone web form — not bundled into any account, purchase, or agreement. You can view and use the live form at alert.intelamation.net/sms-opt-in. It asks only for the mobile number and a single consent checkbox that is unchecked by default:

5. Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on incident volume. Recipients receive messages only when an active incident requires their attention during their on-call shift. There is no fixed cadence; many recipients receive zero messages on quiet days.

6. Sample messages

Representative examples of the messages Argos Alert sends. The first is the one-time double opt-in confirmation; the rest are operational pages sent only after the recipient has confirmed:

Argos Alert: Reply YES to confirm your opt-in to operational incident-alert texts from Intelligent Automation, LLC. Msg freq varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
Argos Alert: P1 INCIDENT - kernel-postgres host down at 02:47 EDT. You are on call for Acme Corp. Reply ACK to acknowledge or ESC to escalate to your manager. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.
Argos Alert: Reminder - incident #4821 still unacknowledged after 10 min. Escalating to secondary on-call. Reply STOP to opt out.

7. Opt-out & help keywords

KeywordWhat happens
STOP / UNSUBSCRIBE / CANCEL / END / QUIT Immediately unsubscribes the recipient from all SMS. A confirmation message is sent and no further messages are delivered.
HELP / INFO Returns support information: "Argos Alert incident paging by Intelligent Automation, LLC. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Support: [email protected]"
START / UNSTOP Re-subscribes a recipient who had previously opted out.

8. Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Argos Alert does not charge recipients for messages; standard carrier rates apply.

9. SMS processors / sub-processors

Argos Alert sends SMS via licensed messaging carriers (Twilio and/or Plivo) acting as sub-processors. No recipient data is sold or shared for marketing.
